Euro-Fuchsia

In 1984, some European fuchsia societies joined together under the name of Euro-Fuchsia. The association developed into a platform for information exchange and co-operation for European fuchsia societies and institutes.

The purpose of Euro-Fuchsia is for

This will be mainly achieved in the following ways: All standard publications will be exchanged directly between the societies. Material published by any society within Euro-Fuchsia may be used freely, without charge, by any other society of Euro-Fuchsia in its own publications. The societies will co-operate in the general education, fuchsia research and matters concerning species/cultivars. Representatives of the societies will meet at lleast once a year. And, notice of all planned exhibitions and their dates will be published as far in advance as possible.

All societies that are engaged in the cultivation, promotion and propagation of fuchsias and are prepared to promote the above mentioned co-operation can become members of Euro-Fuchsia. Every society or institute has the right to leave Euro-Fuchsia at any moment.

As a basic principle the English language will be used during the Euro-Fuchsia meetings and for Euro-Fuchsia minutes, announcements and other publications. A secretariat will handle the daily business of Euro-Fuchsia.

Any member society may host the annual meeting of Euro-Fuchsia. During the meeting the delegates will direct the Euro-Fuchsia workload and discuss matters concerning Euro-Fuchsia. The meeting will not only include the formal meeting of the members, but also visits to fuchsia gardens or exhibitions, lectures on fuchsia's or related matters, or other efforts to achieve the above aims.
