Fuchsia Names

The following link offers the possibility to check whether a name for a fuchsia cultivar is or has been in use.

As the database currently covers about 12.000 fuchsia names, you can imagine, that it will be not possible or helpful to show all 12.000 names in a long list. Therefor you have to fill in at least three characters (to include eventual space) to create a list with all stored names containing these three characters. For example: If you type in 'elf' and press <Sorte auswaehlen> (= enter) you will get the following list:

'Belvoir Elf' Pacey, 1982, GB
'Blue Elf' Hall-Atkinson, 1968, GB
'Carmelflora' Stubbs, Annabella, 1985, USA
'Christmas Elf' Gentry, 1972, USA
'Elf' Tabraham, 1976, GB
'Elf's Own' Woolley, 1985, GB
'Elfe' Götz, 1989, D
'Elfie Fassel' Strümper, 1995, D
'Elfin Glade' Colville, 1964, GB
'Elfrida' Meillez, 1871, F
'Elfriede Ott' Nutzinger, Karl, 1976, A
'Elftplaat 2' Weeda, 1991, NL
'Eschott Elf' Dr. Ryle, 1976, GB
'HeRi Elft' Buiting, 2005, NL
'Shelford' Roe, 1986, GB
'Waldis Elfie' Dietrich, 2001, D
'Welfenkrone' Strümper, 1999, D

It shows cultivar's name, breeder, year and country. Hitting one of the names you will get information at which nurseries in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium or Switzerland the cultivars are available.

Don't worry that the page is in German, but the language of fuchsias is international, even if the page is maintained bei the German Dahlia, Fuchsia, and Gladiolus Society (DDFGG) and the German Bernd Franzen.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the incompleteness of our database. As we are dependent on cataloques, publications about fuchsias, and informations by fuchsia friends, as well as fuchsia breeders are hard working to create new cultivars. we are sure, that our database will never be complete. Therefor Euro-Fuchsia is not able to garantiee that names not listed in the database are or have been not in use.
